The Economics Olympics are the largest economic education project in Portugal, aimed at secondary and vocational school students.
Their aim is to Unite the Worlds: to unite young Portuguese people with a passion for economics and to unite secondary education with higher education, especially at the University of Coimbra.
The initiative was created in 2013 by a group of students from the Economics Degree at FEUC, and is currently organized by students and alumni of the University of Coimbra and by participants from previous editions of the OE.
The OE XII are supported by a Scientific and Pedagogical Council, composed entirely of teachers from FEUC - Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra.
Participation in the OE XII is open to all secondary and vocational school students in Portugal. In this edition, the theme under discussion will be “International Economics”.
The OE XII will take place in 3 Phases:
• School Phase, 15 to 17 January;
• Regional Phase, 22 February;
• National Phase, from May 9th to 11th;
With more than 17,500 participants over the past editions, the OE continue to seek to increase their commitment to the Portuguese education system and promote the improvement of economic literacy in Portugal. Be a part of us!!
